		1988: The early years ...

In the latter part of 1987 we both decided to leave "Corporate America" and start a business of our own.

Our parameters were simple: a small business that involved alot of travel and kept us near our favorite past-time - boating.

So on December 23, 1987 J. Daniel Marine was born ... AND THE REST IS HISTORY!!!

Dan rebuilt an old DT466 International single-axle tractor, added the smallest sleeper ever made (LOL),

reconditioned a tandem-axle boat trailer (sand-blasted and repainted) and after the New Year 1988 we began our 21+ year journey ..

We transported over 30 boats our first year. As we progressed we added a larger sleeper and some cool professional lettering.

Even before the onset of cell phones and digital cameras we kept our clients up-to-date via pay phones (yes - quarters!)

and provided a photo album of the trip upon the delivery.

Every year since 1988 we have increased our knowledge and enhanced our equipment

and the journey continues ...
